Welcome to this week’s OBSRVTNS! I’m in good but exhausted spirits. I have four writing projects going on, a graphic novel, two top secret things, and a collection of essays. In case you can’t count, that’s literally a metric fuck ton of stuff. So I’ve hired a writing coach. I’d always thought of a coach as someone that a writer with no experience or training would employ and to a large degree that’s true. This little cutie right here, however, has her MFA and therefore, her shit together, right?
Discipline and accountability are weaknesses for me, so I decided to hire a writing coach to get me organized and hold me accountable to reaching my deadlines. I know it seems like a lot of projects at the same time, but I have ADD in addition to OCD, so not only am I a charming friend and great to share a house or hotel with, I’m also the kind of person that needs constant stimulation and variety. (I wonder why I love to read the dictionary, do crossword puzzles box and have made a career in pornography?)
Last week I was talking about getting my house in order, and now the theme seems to be getting my work in order. I start camming regularly for camsoda.com starting next week and am getting back to twice weekly updates on my site mycrazysexlife.com in addition to the shoots I’m doing. I’m holding off on feature dancing for the moment, I need to leave myself some time for the things between writing and working.
Did I mention that at the end of the week I’m leaving on a writer’s retreat at The Stanley Hotel where they filmed The Shining? I’ll be updating my Insta and twitter with pics from the ghost hunts and absinthe induced visions all weekend.
This week’s guest on OBSERVATIONS with Sovereign Syre (http://ilovesov.com/category/observations) is Gaby Dunn (@GabyDunn). She’s the co-star of Just Between Us, a popular youtube show and a queer/poly/sex positive force to be reckoned with. She’s written for just about everyone and done a lot of stand up in NYC back in the day. In this episode we talk about what polyamory is and what it’s like trying to date in the modern world.
SPOILER ALERT: I talk a lot about my personal life and what’s been going on in my romantic house for the past year or so. I feel a bit like an iPhone out of its case in this episode, but I decided to go ahead and post it anyway. I hope you enjoy.
